The Caribbean Fashion Awards will recognize the achievements of individuals and entities in the region’s fashion arena. The event will also honour the “Trail Blazers”, those who have worked tirelessly over the years to develop a fashion industry in the Caribbean and whose contributions have directly influenced the current state of the industry in the region.

Aside from the individual awards, Caribbean Fashion Awards will present two People’s Choice Awards in the categories Local Fashion TV Programme/Fashion Show/Fashion Week. Voting for these awards begins online or texting via the official mobile provider for CFA, two weeks before the final awards presentation ceremony. In addition, two Special Awards to be selected directly by the Caribbean Fashion Awards Executive Committee will be presented in the areas of Industry Achievement and Lifetime Achievement.

The Award

NAEBBIRAC
Naebbirac (pronounced nah-ee-beh-rack) is the official name of the statuette presented to awardees of the Caribbean Fashion Awards.

Designed and hand-crafted in the Caribbean, the award is made of blown, black glass embedded in a wooden base. It stands approximately 11.8 inches tall and weighs approximately 5lb.

The statuette depicts a female form with the lower body draped in fabric signifying the intimate linkage between Caribbean culture and its fashion industry.

In printed versions, the statuette appears draped in multi-colored fabric whose vibrant hues echo the colours of the flags of the Caribbean countries.
